K-Electric projects into green through the introduction of K-Solar which is a renewable energy company that facilitates the modification towards a greener and cleaner energy future.
KE is a Pakistani-based Electric Supply Company and investor-owned utility management which conducts and supervises the generation, transmission, and distribution of producing and delivering energy to consumers.
Naz Khan, K-Electric’s Chief Strategy Officer said,
“K-Electric has stepped into the renewable energy space with the launch of its first-ever subsidiary. By launching K-Solar, the company has taken another step toward a greener and more sustainable future for our future generations. Currently, renewables have around 250MW of share in the K-Electric total energy mix including almost 150MW from wind and 100MW from solar energy. Additional projects are in the pipeline to increase the share of renewables to 350MW”
According to Chief Executive Officer of K-Electric Limited (KE) Moonis Abdullah Alvi,
“K-Electric had been making greater efforts to increase its share of renewables in its energy mix and the launch of the K-Solar was one milestone in achieving KE’s mission of a green and sustainable future.”
To function with its residential customers, K-Solar teams will demeanor site surveys and reviews of their energy need to commend the best easy-to-manage solar solutions for them. K-Solar will deliver ecological and long-term solar solutions and resolutions for the continuous task to package the services for the emergent commercial sector, encompassing banks, marketing outlets, educational institutions, and, healthcare organizations.

K-Electric (KE) and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) initialed the Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) for the supply of 150mmcfd RLNG for K-Electric’s upcoming BQPS-III power plant. The $650 million, 900MW plant will reinforce Karachi’s power supply.
Chairman National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Tauseef H. Farooqi highlighted,
“For the renewable industry to innovate and thrive in Pakistan need a transition in its generation, transmission and distribution system. NEPRA had been constantly working to bring that very change. KE is committed to providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy for the sustainable development of Karachi. In line with our Climate Change Policy, we have adopted a balanced and responsible approach that reduces carbon emissions and ensures social and environmental gains.
He further added,
“We continue to improve and prioritize our environmental performance which is in full compliance with the global compliance standards. We also continue to mitigate our GHG emissions through the creation of green zones. The Plant for Pakistan campaign is a part of this framework whereby KE pledged to plant 100,000 trees across the city to help combat climate change.
So far, 63,000 trees have been planted. NEPRA intends to enhance the renewable energy footprint, which currently accounts for only 3 percent of Pakistan’s overall generation capacity of over 35,000MW, to 30 percent over the next 10 years.”
For the facilitation of the growing industrial sector, solar, consisting of banks, retail stores, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations, K-Electric will appropriately deliver perpetual and long-term solar solutions.
