Let us begin with an eye-opening quote,
“Addiction is a disease that makes you too self-centered to see the damage you have caused to yourself and your beautiful valuable life.”
An addiction no one talks anything about but is constantly harming people. Nobody speaks about that addiction, but everyone is doing it.
Yes, it is the addiction to your comfort zone that is ruining you. Let me tell you something that the majority of you would relate you and you would feel that it is what you are doing and I am narrating your life routine
You wake up, follow some 9 to 5 cycle, and waste a billion light years on social media being lazy and unproductive, deep inside know that something is wrong but instead of doing something you always suppress your inner voice, addictive to social media, again scrolling, and scrolling, compromise your sleep, scrolling, late night sleep,….
This is what the majority of people possibly do in a day.
But what if I tell you that these are all the temporary pleasures and life-threatening distractions that are making zero percent contribution to any well-being in your life? Yes, it is true.
You are prisoners and that is it. If not, is there any proof that is reflected in your daily routine?
What is even worse or life-threatening? When people have been following this routine for years and are still loyal to it.
Now instead of all the lectures about being a good human being, Addiction is a disease, leave it or be the best version of yourself. Let us deep drive to what it is exactly doing with you.
Here is the journey of your past, present, and future with the addition of comfort zones and temporary pleasures.
We are all living in a world full of stereotypes, traditional ways, limited routines, and a culture of employment.
To some extent, these things are induced in people ever since they are born and get to understand things.
People are taught to study and get good grades and no one talks about skills and eye-opening experiences based on practical work, the same goes for lifestyle. It is like we are all following a similar long-term pattern and don’t want to come out of a zone to do something different and big.
The addiction that no one talks about is doing more harm to a person than giving anything better. Addiction causes the brain and body to follow a similar pattern or series of activities to the point that it does not have to process or change what is going on.
Let me include a wonderful example of a film where the main character has the world to explore in different ways, opportunities, goals, and wonderful life.
But all the main character does is following a long-term addiction to their comfort zone being addictive to social media and useless things. The world is constantly giving all it can, but the main character is busy in a prison, watching, drinking, scrolling, wasting, and then sleeping, without giving a second to think that the outside is incredible and that this is not what he is supposed to do.
Would you watch the film, or if it is necessary to, would you like it or enjoy it?
Certainly, no!
Now look at yourself and realize that you are following a life-threatening addiction no one talks about and slowly turning into this main character.
This long-term routine that one feels of pleasure or fun is dragging a person towards darkness, loneliness, fatigue, and depression.
Now you understand why you are not happy, why nothing is working for you, why you can’t focus, or fall asleep, why you keep on losing motivation, nothing interests you and you are struggling with your life like you have lost everything.
How Addiction is a disease?
Addiction is a complicated condition and is often considered a disease because it changes and impacts the function of the brain. This results in long-term changes that can be difficult to overcome.
Here it is important to understand that it is not like some big physical changes that are like injuries, it is more like a pattern that the body starts to follow as a result of addiction which is certainly not good at all.
When a person is addictive to social media, lifestyle, technology, or anything possible, the brain creates a feeling of pleasure and supports the behavior. The brain becomes less responsive to that addiction in the long-term period, and the person requires more of the addictive thing to experience the same degree of pleasure. It captivates a person to remain in a shell, no matter if it is harming or disturbing a life.
Addiction also impacts brain areas that are associated with learning, memory, and motivation. It makes it difficult for a person to stop using addictive things even if they want to.
The end note
Addiction is a disease but it can be managed. Sometimes it is not about being lazy, but about emotional management. Addiction can have serious consequences on a person’s mental health and overall well-being.
Your life and time are valuable and wasting them without managing them is like misuse of a blessing. The addiction no one talks about is spreading like fire and people are wasting their lives for temporary pleasures and fun.
There is s a life bigger and more beautiful than long-term addictions and everyday lifecycle. All you need to do is create and pattern, control your unnecessary thoughts, and try not to give time to things that are just trending but harmful to you.
It is true and unfortunate that the mainstream of this generation is spending their time exactly this way.
If you are suffering from an addiction no one talks about, it is not like the end for you or you are a declared culprit. You can still change the ways.
It is not a good thing that you enjoy a toxic relationship with addiction because there is no good there.
The important thing is you work on life and how much effort you want to put in and fight Addiction is a disease.
