Former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani made an apology for his escape from the country to his compatriots approximately three weeks afterward escaping the country as the Taliban detained control with the fall of Kabul.
He has previously stated that he had gone to spare the country an additional massacre.
The Former Afghanistan President said,
“I had not intended to abandon his people but it was the only way. These are the baseless allegations that I traveled to the United Arab Emirates with about $169m which makes £123m. I devoted 20 years to helping Afghanistan become a democratic, prosperous and sovereign state. I have profound regret that my chapter ended in a similar tragedy to my predecessors. When the Taliban entered the presidential palace in Kabul, they started looking for me from room to room. I was not even allowed to take my sandals off and put my shoes on.”

Taliban forces had completed a sequence of magnificent improvements from corner to corner in the country.
Former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani further stated,
“My commitment to the Afghan people has never wavered and will guide me for the rest of my life and I could not make it end differently. I owe the Afghan people an explanation for leaving Kabul abruptly on August 15 after the Taliban unexpectedly enter the city. I left at the urging of the palace security who advised me that to remain risked setting off the same horrific street-to-street fighting the city had suffered during the Civil War of the 1990s. Leaving Kabul was the most difficult decision of my life, but I believed it was the only way to keep the guns silent and save Kabul and her 6 million citizens. I offer my profound appreciation and respect for the sacrifice of all Afghans, especially our Afghan soldiers and their families, through the last 40 years. “
Amidst the departure of foreign troops, the Taliban were competent in the comprehensive mechanism of the country within 10 days of taking hold of the first provincial capital.
The United States and former Afghan administrators have purported abundant cases in point of corruption and bribery within Ghani’s office and family and several accusations are made against the former President amalgamating the conclusion that Ghani gave lucrative agreements to close family members.
Ghani has repudiated the charges.
According to several Analysts,
“The corruption in the Afghan government and its military’s leadership often meant that money meant for soldiers’ salaries instead went to lining the pockets of senior officials. The Afghan military’s rapid surrenders to the Taliban stemmed in part from a total lack of confidence that Former Afghanistan President Ghani and the government in Kabul would support them.”
Former Afghanistan President Ghani’s escape from the country has also been reproached for engaging in and benefitting from proliferating exploitation taking a zillion of dollars in cash with him when he left Afghanistan.
