South Korea has launched the P4G (Global Platform pioneering green partnerships to deliver inclusive and sustainable growth) summit with pledges to take a bigger role in the global drive to transition to renewable energies

A virtual climate summit is in progress in South Korea on Sunday with initiatives to contribute a better-quality title role in the determination towards a greener global economy.

On Sunday, World leaders called for more accomplishments and the overall presentation of all countries in the international determination in route for a cleaner and greener planet at the Seoul Climate Summit 2021 held virtually by South Korea in Seoul.

Contemporary, Climate change is a chief threat to the overall growth of the economy, private sector, and political administrations, with undeniable hazards fluctuating from deteriorations in agricultural revenues, life-threatening weather conditions that distress the hospitality industry and economies, disease plagues, and supplementary upheavals.

The two-day Seoul Climate Summit 2021 meeting this year is following the introductory meeting held in Copenhagen in 2018 and is the second after this. This inaugurated meeting will focus on public-private partnerships, especially in developing countries.

South Korea has recently declared plans to expurgate finance for international coal projects and its contributing role in the Better-Quality global initiative to go green.

President Moon Jae-in said in the inauguration of the Seoul Climate Summit 2021 Partnering for Green Growth and initial speech,

“South Korea will play a responsible role as a bridging nation between developing and advanced nations,”

Accompanying Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, this Summit has amalgamated innumerable international leaders to deliberate how public-private partnerships, especially in developing countries, can help achieve the goals for the betterment of the world.

Forward-thinking countries showed inclinations towards emissions-cutting goals and also planned to ultimately go carbon neutral by 2050. German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on the countries to point out their requirement for fossil fuels, cautioning climate variation is threatening people’s lives and the economy as much as the Covid-19 pandemic.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said,

“Countries must now deliver on their green pledges. It’s a great and Better-Quality start, but let’s not pat ourselves on the back just yet because our planet and our people need more.”

This privileged happening keens more on practical resolutions to reside the commitments made in the 2015 Paris climate accord. The aims to keep global warming below a 2-degree Celsius (3.6-degree Fahrenheit) increase from pre-industrial levels, and preferably closer to 1.5 degrees are considered in the accord.

At Seoul Climate Summit 2021, South Korea resolved to target zero emissions by 2050 and to diminish discharges by 37% concerning business-as-usual levels by 2030 and also tactics to stop funding coal plants in other countries to announce a carbon tax.

Renewable energy, carbon neutrality, green technology, sustainable urban development, biodiversity preservation, and climate finance are among the important issues covered at the summit.

The significance of international collaboration and cooperation in addressing climate change is highly emphasized during the Seoul Climate Summit 2021. It stressed the necessity of nations cooperating, exchanging information and resources, and fortifying alliances to address climate change on a global basis.

The adoption of joint statements, action plans, and promises by participating nations and organizations are among the summit’s outcomes.
