The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and World Health Organization (WHO) has united the partnership act as a team agency alongside the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and a large number of partners.
The United Nations confirmed the Decade on Ecosystem Restoration would instigate on June 5 at World Environment Day. It called on individuals, groups, governments, businesses, and organizations to join forces in a global Generation Restoration measure to protect an ecological future.
World Health Organization (WHO) stated on World Environment Day,
“Ecosystem restoration can significantly contribute to supporting health and well-being by helping to regulate infectious diseases, supporting food and nutrition security, and contributing to climate mitigation and adaptation. Restoration also reduces the risk of disasters, while supporting livelihoods and healthy societies”
Ecosystem restoration on World Environment Day emphasizes ecosystem restoration and aims to meaningfully contribute to assisting and supporting health and well-being by providing facilitations to standardize infectious diseases, supporting food and nutrition security, and funding climate extenuation and adaptation. Restoration also diminishes the peril of disasters.
The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration is a conglomeration of a sequence of combined determinations led by WHO that strive for collaboration and engagement at the ecosystem crossing points also acknowledged as One Health.
The world health body said,
“Safeguarding and restoring ecosystems globally will contribute to long-term social wellbeing and ecological resilience while boosting green recovery efforts from the pandemic.”

“It will also host an online Generation Restoration event in July in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders. It said the event is expected to provide insights into how to mainstream health in nature-based solutions.”
World Health Organization (WHO) also apprehended its first foundational conference of the newly established Expert Working Group on Biodiversity, Climate, One Health, and Nature-based Solutions (EWG).
