Marvel star Scarlett Johansson the most celebrated American actress who has worked in several mega-blockbusters has criticized the hypersexualization of her Black Widow character in the Iron Man film series.
She says her character was talked about as a possession and the scene was an instance of objectifying women. She is contemporarily glad regarding the alteration in the portrayal of the Black Widow character.

Scarlett Johansson has just released his thoughts about her Black Widow character in Marvel Cinematic Universe and the way it evolved.
The Marvel star Scarlett Johansson has confessed that her character of Natasha Romanoff as known as Black Widow was extensively sexualized in the initial marvel series and that perspective made her days worse. She also confessed the trouble and hard work in diminishing the so-called hyper-sexualization image.
Marvel star Scarlett Johansson talked about her experience as,
“It has changed and I think part of that change is actually from me too. I’m a mom and my life is different. 10 years have passed and things have happened and I have a much different, more evolved understanding of myself. As a woman, I’m in a different place in my life.”
She Mirrored her early days of playing the Avenger and admitted that the Black Widow character was hyper-sexualized.
She further added,
“She’s talked about like she’s a piece of something, like a possession or a thing or whatever like a piece of an expletive. And Tony even refers to her as something like that at one point. Maybe at that time that felt like a compliment. Do you know what I mean? Because my thinking was different.”
The reflection was a mature analysis of the actress as a woman and a mother. The years have upbrought maturity in the way Scarlett perceives things. Though the conversation was all about the character, not personally referring to someone.
She further added,
“Now people, young girls, are getting a much more positive message. It’s been incredible to be a part of that shift and be able to come out the other side and be a part of that old story, but also progress; evolve. I think it’s pretty cool.”
She further elaborated with positivity the way the character has revolutionalized and become matured,
“It definitely has changed and part of that change is hard because I’m inside it, but probably a lot of that is actually from me too. I’ll be 35 years old and I’m a mom and my life is different. 10 years have passed and things have happened and I have a much different, more evolved understanding of myself.”
“As a woman, I’m in a different place in my life. And I felt more forgiving of myself, as a woman, and not sometimes probably not enough. I’m more accepting of myself. All of that is related to that move away from the kind of hyper-sexualization of this character and, I mean, you look back at Iron Man 2 and while it was really fun and had a lot of great moments in it, the character is so sexualized.”
Marvel star Scarlett Johansson talked about her character entirely with a Reference to a scene when Black Widow confronted Tony Stark in the boxing ring with an impressed tycoon. She proclaimed that at that moment it was a compliment but because her thinking was different about hyper-sexualization.
